In Malaysia's jewellery industry, HABIB is a legend spanning over half a century. Founded in 1958, HABIB has earned the title of "Malaysia's Premier Jeweller" through its exceptional craftsmanship and innovation in fine jewellery, gold and diamonds – and is now a respected luxury brand internationally.

Started at Penang's "Jeweller's Corner"
In 1958, founder Dato' Haji Habib Mohamed Abdul Latif opened his first jewellery workshop at Penang's "Jeweller's Corner" on Pitt Street (now Jalan Masjid Kapitan Keling) with just RM 3,800. He focused on diamonds and coloured gemstones – a unique strategy in a gold-dominated market.

Nationwide expansion and listing
In 1986, HABIB opened its first Kuala Lumpur store at Semua House, Jalan Masjid India. In 1998, it became the first jewellery company listed on Bursa Malaysia. Today, HABIB operates over 37 stores nationwide.

Iconic products & craftsmanship
HABIB popularised long necklaces, traditional kerongsang (brooches) and butang baju Melayu (buttons). Its Oro Italia 916®️ collection blends Italian craftsmanship with Malaysian aesthetics. The brand also offers 999.9 pure gold wafers, gold bars and investment-grade gold.

Culture & responsibility
HABIB runs the HARTA art gallery and a free‑entry heritage jewellery museum (over 800 pieces, some dating to the 19th century). It also hosts the annual GemFest, and supports Zoo Negara's wildlife conservation.
